About Castleberry & Elison, P.C.

Pete Castleberry and Emily Elison are passionate about the law and committed to serving their clients through highly effective advocacy and cutting edge criminal defense strategies. Pete and Emily previously worked together as law clerks for the Federal Public Defenders Office in Portland, Oregon, where they regularly collaborated on a variety of criminal cases. Their ability to work as a team, and the shared belief that every criminal case should be approached from all possible angles, defines an intense work ethic and a powerful commitment to excellence in criminal defense.

Pete Castleberry

Pete Castleberry attended the Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, where he graduated cum laude with a concentration in criminal law. Pete received the Best Oral Advocate award in an oral argument competition in his first year as a law student. He was also a member of the Lewis & Clark Law Review editorial staff, in addition to being Vice President of the Public Interest Law Project. During his tenure, he worked as a law clerk at the Oregon Federal Public Defenders Office in Portland, as well as interning at the Metropolitan Public Defenders Office. After graduating, Lewis & Clark’s renowned Cornelius Honor Society selected Pete as a member due to his significant contributions to the school community and his outstanding scholastic record.

Currently, Pete resides in Portland, Oregon, where he lives with his wife and dog. Some of his favorite pastimes include sailing, cooking, swimming, and playing music.

Emily Elison

Emily Elison is a graduate of the Lewis & Clark Law School, where she earned a Certificate in Criminal Law and Procedure while graduating cum laude. Emily won the Best Appellate Brief award in a competition among first-year law students. Furthermore, she represented Lewis & Clark in competition as a member of the Appellate Moot Court team as well as working as the Editor in Chief of the Animal Law Review. During her time in law school, Emily worked as a clerk for the Oregon Public Defender’s Office in Portland, where she participated in activities relating to trial preparation and the writing of appellate briefs. Upon graduation, Emily was chosen as a member of the Cornelius Honor Society of Lewis & Clark Law School.

Currently, Emily lives in Portland. Some of her favorite things to do include playing tennis, reading, and being outdoors.
