This week the Portland Police Department busted a regional marijuana distribution ring, seizing nearly $1 million worth of illegal drugs.
Authorities found over a thousand marijuana plants that were being grown in Portland homes remodeled for grow operations. Five Chinese nationals, ranging in age from 25 to 61 years-old, were also arrested in the bust.
The Portland police were investigating the operation for 18 months before search warrants were issued. Those arrested are facing charges of delivering marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, possessing marijuana, as well as theft of services. The busts took place in Southeast Portland on Long Street and 86th Avenue.
